Chapter 4: Reducing Phosphorus Pollution

Action:

Reduce the phosphorus load that is being generated by agricultural land uses, including farmsteads, cropland, and pasture lands in the basin.

Continue to ensure that livestock do not have access to surface waters in production areas on MFOs and LFOs.

There are no documented cases of access to surface waters in production areas at this time. There may be a few cases that are discovered during the next round of inspections but we don't expect to see many. Access to surface water in a production area is a very high priority to address immediately and have been largely taken care of on MFOs and LFOs.
